Historic Hajstorp
Here in Hajstorp, the grand opening of the Göta Canal's western section was held in 1822. King Charles XIV John disembarked alongside Baltzar von Platen amid loud cheers from the large crowd of people who had gathered. In the evening, a dinner and party was held for 200 people, and later in the evening von Platen received the blue ribbon of the Order of Seraphim from the hand of the king.
