Day cruise with sluice & archipelago and tour of Stegeborg Castle ruins

Join our beautiful ship M/S Viktoria and our female captain and her crew on a pleasant day trip with a tour of Stegeborg Castle ruins.

Product description

We depart at 10:30 from Söderköping, with our K-marked ship built in 1915. Viktoria steams out through Söderköping down to our first lock Tegelbruket with a drop of 2.3 metres. After Tegelbruket we have 20 minutes until we are in beautiful Mem with its single lock, drop height of three metres. It was the last lock built in the great canal project. Once down on Slätbaken, we have an hour's archipelago trip to Stegeborg Castle ruins.

Lunch can be pre-ordered when making your booking, which you do in the next step. We offer two options:

-Victoria’s wild game roast from Östergötland, served with boiled potatoes, gluten-free cream sauce, salad, and jelly from Fängtorp Farm. Beverage included.

-Victoria’s cured salmon, served with boiled potatoes, mustard-dill sauce, and salad. Beverage included.

If you prefer not to pre-order, you are of course welcome to order once on board. We then offer a wider selection of dishes such as starters, other main courses, vegetarian/vegan options, desserts, and more. Full bar service available.

Consumption of your own food and beverages is not permitted on board.

Stegeborg was one of Sweden's most important strongholds during the Middle Ages and a royal castle until the 17th century. The most powerful families of the time met in bloody battles or tough negotiations at the castle. In the 16th century, the castle was expanded into a magnificent Renaissance castle by King Johan III and was a royal residence until 1689. Today, the castle is surrounded by a beautiful park with a herb garden.
