Product description
Writer's meeting with Bruno Tillander (alias Claus Ulrich Heilemann), who wrote the book "Gustaf III, Europe's most misunderstood king".
Together with his good friend Peder Lamm (known art expert, TV profile and editor-in-chief of the magazine Connoisseur), he tells about Gustaf III and his life from a new perspective. As Peder writes in the book's foreword: "Between the covers of the book, a different picture is painted by Gustaf, and sometimes it also happens that someone outside the established research world suddenly enters the scene with completely new ideas and a perception uncolored by the foundational truths of previous generations."
Bruno has an endless interest in Gustaf III and will show us a new image of the man we in modern times call the "theatre king" but who was a competent regent who promoted business, Sweden acquired a colony in the West Indies, carried out important democratization processes that also included equalization of status, which earned him many enemies within the nobility. That in turn came to a tragic end in the murder at the masquerade ball in 1792.
The book will be available for sale and signing.
After the talk, you are invited to an after-seat in the Slottskällaren, where you will have the chance to meet and talk with both Bruno and Peder Lamm.
