The Göta canal exhibition From idea to reality in Motala is located in one of the two pavilions next to the canal in the Old Motala Workshop area, between Borenshult's locks and the Motala guest harbor in Vättern. By boat, you can reach the exhibition easily from the small guest harbor in Motala Verkstad.
The exhibition shows how Baltzar von Platen took the 300-year-old idea of building a waterway across Sweden and realized it by building the Göta Canal. Here you get to meet the people who made it possible to build the canal and the technology they used.
The entrance is included in the canal fee for leisure boats, and it is possible to enter the exhibition with the Service Card. Entrance fees for other visitors can be paid at Café Mallboden right next door.

Children (6-12 years): SEK 20
Children (0-5 years): Free
Unfortunately, the exhibition is not wheelchair accessible.
