Hajstorp hostel, cottages and motorhome space

Hostel | At Hajstorp slusscafé and guesthouse you will find pitches for motorhomes and caravans, a lovely hostel and three small cottages. Welcome!

Hajstorp locks are situated by Göta Canal and its old Lock Guard’s Cottage today houses a café and accommodation of both hotel and hostel standard. The café offers homemade baked goods and subscribes to an ecological ideology. You can also park your camper or moor your boat here. If you are curious, you will hire a bike and stay for a few days to explore the area.

The hostel Smeden is named after the old blacksmith who once lived and worked by Hajstorp locks by Göta Canal. Today, the building has been restored to offer an old-fashioned feel by using new wallpapers with patterns from the 1900s.
Smeden has two bright double rooms on the ground floor and two on the first floor. The ground floor is also where you find the large kitchen that forms the hub of the house. There is also a bathroom with shower and toilet. Extra beds can be set up in the rooms. The kitchen is equipped with a stove, fridge, microwave oven, coffee maker, crockery, pots and pans. There are two bathrooms, one of which has a shower and is accessible to disabled persons. Renovated in 2009. The first-floor lounge rooms contains TV, books and board games for all ages.

Slusscaféet (the lock café) is situated close to the lock and old roller bridge. Here, you can enjoy the view of the canal basin and the lock passage, as well as the home-baked bread and cakes. Delicious sandwiches are served with vegetables from the next-door neighbour. The coffee is fair trade and you can also buy ecological products at the café.

You can also purchase ceramic coffee mugs made by hand at Borreboda pottery.
