Sjötorp guest harbour - the gateway to the west

For boaters, Sjötorp is the first, or last, encounter with the Göta Canal before or after they pass through Lake Vänern. There are no less than eight locks here, and watching boats and locks is a popular pastime.


Guest berths

• In the shipyard basin above lock 2/3 there are 22 spaces and 22 6A electrical outlets.


• Between locks 1 and 2/3 there are 12 spaces and 12 electrical outlets.


• Note! The guest harbour on Lake Vänern, outside lock 1, is privately owned and is not included in the canal fee.




Things to see and do by the harbour

In addition to the eight locks, there are several nice restaurants, cafés and summer shops here. Next to the shipyard basin is a café, farm shop, bicycle rental and the Canal Museum.
On the north side of the pool between locks 1 and 2/3 there is a barbecue area and pétanque court, and down by the Lake Vänern beach there is a playground, well liked by visiting children.
