Day cruise with sluice & archipelago and tour of Capella Ecumenica
Join our beautiful ship and our female captain and her crew on a pleasant day trip with a tour of Capella Ecumenica.
Product description
We depart at 10:30 from Söderköping, with our K-marked ship built in 1915. Viktoria steams out through Söderköping down to our first sluice Tegelbruket with a drop of 2.3 metres. After Tegelbruket we have 20 minutes until we are in beautiful Mem with its single sluice, drop height of three metres. It was the last sluice built in the great canal project. Once down on Slätbaken, we have an hour and 40 minute archipelago trip to Capella Ecumenica.
On the journey, you can order lunch or just have a coffee and prawn sandwich. Our kitchen is open throughout the trip and this year we have a game menu but also other options such as fish, vegetarian and children's menu.
Capella Ecumenica is located on a hill on the island of Västra Gärdsholmen with an incredible view of the archipelago and in good weather it is possible to swim from the rocks. Capella is designed as a medieval church and the walls are built of grey stone and are erected directly on the heel rock. The roof is covered with slate and the windows are medieval-inspired and let in minimal light. The furnishings and fittings are collections from Bielkhammar's travels around the world. Alongside the path from the piers is an Orthodox cross commemorating the Christians killed during the 1917-1930 revolutions in Eastern Europe.
