The Göta Älv Bridge
Due to the construction of the new Hisingsbron in Gothenburg the Göta Älv Bridge over Trollhätte Canal has different opening hours and some dates are completely closed for traffic. If you plan to travel Trollhätte Canal in connection with your Göta Canal trip, please check with the Swedish Maritime Administration for opening hours.
Remember that the closing time of the canal is not the same as the last lockage time or bridge opening. Lockage/bridge opening is not initiated if no suitable mooring can be reached before closing time.
