Experience the development of Swedish military history! The Air Force Museum in Linköping is an award-winning museum of technology and cultural history. Here is the story of aviation's obvious place in Sweden and in the Swedish defence. The museum is suitable for the whole family and offers guided tours.
Witness a unique collection of aircraft, from those piloted by the pioneers of the early 20th century to today's JAS 39 Gripen. At our museum you get to see the actual planes from aereal combat history and hear the captivating stories about the people who made the air force possible.
Perhaps the most spectacular item in the collections is the Swedish DC-3 that was shot down over the Baltic Sea by Soviet fighter aircraft in 1952. Just over fifty years later, the aircraft was found, salvaged and laid to rest at the Air Force Museum.
At The Air Force Museum we also like to combine knowledge and playfulness in a very natural way. In the Flight Lab, the museum's science center, there are flight simulators and multiple stations for experimenting on the theme of flight. Become a pilot for a day and get behind the controls in our JAS 39 Gripen simulator – it’s like flying for real!
At the Air Force Museum there are plenty of fun and educational things to do for both young and old. At Leklanda you can drive around the tracks and refuel your vehicle, and in Drakel and Viggo's workshop there are many peculiar gadgets to look at. In the Flight Lab you’ll find exciting experiment stations and clever tasks for you to solve.
Welcome to the Air Force Museum!
