Karlsborg

Karlsborg is where the Göta Canal runs out into Lake Vättern. In the marina you find 50 berths in total - 15 outside the bridge in Lake Vättern (no electricity), 15 berths inside the bridge on the north side and 20 on the south side (35 electric sockets)

The largest attraction is Karlsborg Fortress, which offers action-packed guided tours and gold hunting for children, about 1 km from the guest harbor.

The canal area in Karlsborg is lively with excellent restaurants and cafés, tourist office, Canal Hotel and minigolf.


Even the local sailing club CSS's guest harbor is located here. However, it is not included in the canal fee.

Fuel on quay: diesel/petrol/alkylat petrol. Self-pay with Visa or MasterCard with PIN. Please note: Maestro card is not accepted.

Price information

5 days in the guest harbor are included for boats with a ticket for the Göta Canal. For nights in addition, and for boats without a valid canal ticket, the cost is 225 SEK/night or 1170 SEK/week.
