Vattentrappa (Water Stairway) by Bengt Olsson, 2007

For the 175th anniversary in Sjötorp, this large sculpture was revealed, in commemoration of the 58,000 people whose 116,000 hands dug the Göta Canal from Sjötorp to Mem, in the years between 1810 and 1832. The stairway consists of blocks of Bohus granite. The sculpture is situated by the harbour basin in Sjötorp.
