Björnavad Bridge

Motala, Norrköping

The first bridge at Björnavad was built as early as 1827. However, it was damaged by the steamer "Sjöhästen" after only seven years. It was not until 1838 that a new bridge was built on the same site. By about 1950, the highways department considered that it was time to replace the old bridge, and this was done in 1954.

Built: 1954

Technical facts: This is a rolling bridge operated from the Norsholm lock.
