History of the lock

The lockkeeper's cottage was built of timber in 1857 and has been the home of three generations of the Stenman family, starting with Per Gustaf Stenman in 1881. After 22 years, Per Gustaf was succeeded by Per Adolf Stenman, who was in turn followed by his son, Einar Stenman. When the last Stenman retired in 1974, the three had completed a total of 93 years at the same lock..
