Jonsboda Bridge

Motala, Töreboda

Built:  Mid-1950s
Technical facts: Two regulating gates are preserved next to the bridge. These were designed to close automatically if water began to leak from the canal, thereby preventing the canal from emptying.

History of the bridge
The bridgekeeper's cottage was built in 1880 and the first to move in was Carl Andersson. He remained bridgekeeper for 43 years.

The basin north of the cottage was used as a loading area. Today, there is a visitors' jetty here.
